A great day for all at the fantastic Discover AGCO event in Birmingham's NEC.

On the 27th February 2014 Highwood attended the Discover AGCO event in Birmingham. Coach travel to and from the event was provided allowing a group of customers from Dorset and Somerset to attend alongside the Highwood staff.

Over 7000 people attended AGCO's 2 day event, showcasing new machinery and products. A new product which was released at the DIscover AGCO event was a new Front Axle Suspension system which is now an available option for the 5600 series of tractors.

Big congratulations to Dave Turner, Service Technician at Highwood's Yeovil Branch.

Dave has just celebrated an incredible fifty years as a Technician at our Yeovil Depot. In 1966 Dave graduated from college with a 1st Class certificate in Agricultural machinery, maintenance and repair and had the original certificates to show us. Dave has some fascinating stories to tell, “Over fifty years you get to meet all kinds of people and machinery” Dave said, “I actually retired two years ago but I like to keep my hand in and my mind active. In conjunction with Amazone and Massey Ferguson, Highwood have recently held a very successful Cultivation demonstration on land kindly donated by Mr Brian Lock.

A full range of Amazone’s cultivation and drilling equipment, including the Catros compact disc harrow and the Cenius mulch cultivator plus the Cirrus 4002 cultivator drill, the Citan 6000 solo seed drill and the Cayena tine seeder, were all available for the many farmers and contractors that attended.

Massey Ferguson tractors supplied by Highwood used in X-Factor TV ad campaigns.

For the second year running a Massey Ferguson tractor supplied by Highwood has been used in one of the official X-Factor ad break videos. This year the £2.5 million TV Campaign for Yeo Valley features a fake boyband called The Churned, who sing about the wonders of country farming:

Last year the Yeo Valley ad created something of a phenomenon, stealing the limelight from Simon Cowell's wannabes on the X Factor by running a two-minute rap video during the ad breaks that featured a bunch of young, posh, Barbour-wearing "farmers":

Highwood have a long association with Honda, and are the main Dealer for groundscare equipment operating from branches in Yeovil and Dorchester branches.

Nick Green operations Director of Highwood was pleased to present to Andrew Hall a new Honda HRX476QX 19" roller Mower on the 10th November.

Honda ran a competition throughout the UK to find the oldest lawnmower. Andrew's Ransome 1902 mower described by Andrew as the size of a mini won the competition.
